The Art and Craft of the Personal Essay

Writing can be a lonely business. The personal essay invites us to join a larger conversation with each other, asking: Who are we? How did we get here? Where are we going? What drives us and what holds us back? Join award-winning professor and SUNY New Paltz Writer-in-Residence, Dina Peone, for a special lecture on the topic, paired with a prompt in which students will tackle some of life’s biggest questions with the goal of developing— and helping each other develop— a unique reflection on being alive that may render us a little more interconnected, lucid, and in love with the act of wondering. Sharing is optional.

This event will be held via Zoom on Monday November 9th, from 7 to 8 PM ET. Advanced registration is required by November 1st.

Note: this series is first-come, first-serve and seating is limited. Register here
